Makassar – 15 March 2025 The Office of International Affairs (KUI) of Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women in engineering through an event titled “Advancing Capacities of Women Engineers: Action and Implementation of Networking and Mentorship.” The event served as a vital platform for women engineers—ranging from students and lecturers to professionals—to share experiences, strengthen professional networks, and receive guidance through a structured mentorship program.
Designed to enhance the capacity and confidence of women in the traditionally male-dominated field of engineering, the event featured panel discussions, inspiring sessions, and mentorship forums. Participants were encouraged to grow, build cross-institutional and intergenerational connections, and take on strategic roles in driving innovation and technological advancement. UMI hopes this initiative will spark the rise of more globally competitive women leaders in the engineering sector.
