UMI Visiting Lecturers Grant

Undergraduate Scholarship

Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) welcomes international researchers, lecturers, and professors to spend their time in UMI to conduct collaborations of research, teaching, and/or community services. It is expected that the visiting scholars will collaborate with UMI academics and catalyze for UMI academics to be a visiting scholar in their institutions/universities.

Eligibility criteria

The applicants must

  1. Hold an international passport
  2. Hold a relevant master’s or PhD degree with the research topic for visiting researchers, hold a research permit from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia to conduct research in Indonesia, and have secured funding to do research collaborations in UMI
  3. Hold a relevant Ph.D. degree for visiting lecturers/professors and must be a permanent lecturer/professor from a reputable university.

Please provide all the following documents and send them to email oia@umi.ac.id :

  1. A cover letter
  2. CV
  3. Letter of recommendation from home institutions/universities
  4. A copy of the passport and its cover
  5. A summary of a proposed research project for visiting researcher

Application review and decision

The team of Universitas Muslim Indonesia will review the applications. If required, an online interview may be scheduled. The successful candidates will receive an offer letter. Successful applicants of visiting researchers will also receive a letter of recommendation to apply for a research permit.

Additional information

  1. The applicants are expected to have secured funding to visit UMI
  2. UMI has a limited fund to support accommodations for eligible candidates
  3. It is preferable that the applicants have contacted UMI academics with regarding to their project/program collaborations before sending the applications
  4. The duration of stay for visiting scholars is preferably short visits
  5. The immigration matters and permits (passport, visa, permits, KITAS) are the responsibility of applicants. UMI will help to provide recommendation letters when required.
