Immigration Regulations

Guidance on student visas and stay permits for international students and scholars coming to UMI.

In this sectionInternational Students

International students enrolled in a degree program at UMI need the appropriate visa and a limited stay permit (ITAS) issued by the Indonesian immigration authorities. Short programs, internships and visiting lectures may require a different type of visa depending on their duration and activities.

General steps

  1. Receive your Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from UMI.
  2. KUI prepares the sponsorship documents required for your visa application.
  3. Apply for your visa according to the current rules of the Directorate General of Immigration.
  4. After arrival in Makassar, report to KUI so we can assist with your stay permit and registration.

Regulations may change. Please always check the latest requirements on the official website of the Directorate General of Immigration and the Makassar Immigration Office, and consult the KUI team before travelling.
