A small nation in the Western Pacific, Taiwan has emerged a vibrant powerhouse in the world economy. The quality of human resources hinges on higher education.
In Taiwan, students can pursue higher learning at two-year and five-year junior colleges as well as universities and colleges. Like in many other countries, university undergraduate programs require four years of study; internships from six months to two years are sometimes required. Graduate programs leading to a Master’s degree require one to four years; those for a doctorate, two to seven years.
