KUI UMI Successfully Hosts UMI International Student Symposium 2025, Bringing Together Participants from 6 Countries

Makassar, August 29, 2025 — The Office of International Affairs, Universitas Muslim Indonesia (KUI UMI), successfully held the UMI International Student Symposium 2025 under the theme “Collaborative Global Mindset for Local Empowerment.” The event took place at UMI Tower, gathering academics, researchers, and students from both local and international institutions.

This year’s symposium featured 50 research papers presented by representatives from 15 universities across 6 different countries, reflecting a strong commitment to fostering global collaboration and academic exchange.

In addition to university participants, the event was also attended by high school and vocational school students from Makassar, providing them with valuable exposure to international academic discussions and inspiring them to develop a global perspective while staying connected to their local roots.

In his opening remarks, the Head of KUI UMI expressed hopes that the symposium would serve as a platform for sharing knowledge, ideas, and experiences among students from various countries.

“Through this theme, we aim to encourage participants to embrace a collaborative global mindset while focusing on local empowerment. We hope that the discussions and research shared here will create tangible impacts for society,” he stated.
