Makassar, November 4, 2025 – The International Affairs Office of Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) successfully held the “International Symposium: Knowledge Sharing and Networking Forum – Empowering Sulawesi Women in Sustainable Tourism”.
This event served as a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among academics, researchers, and practitioners in sustainable tourism, focusing on the empowerment of Sulawesi women in developing sustainable tourism. Participants discussed strategies to strengthen women’s capacity in managing tourism potential based on local culture and wisdom.
In conjunction with the symposium, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universitas Muslim Indonesia and Griffith University, Australia.
This collaboration is expected to enhance international partnerships in education, research, and the development of sustainable tourism across Sulawesi.
