Makassar, March 17, 2025 — The International Office (KUI) of Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) held a special iftar gathering. This time, the event was even more meaningful as it brought together international students and UMI buddies in a moment of shared joy and cultural exchange.
With the unifying spirit of Ramadan, participants from diverse cultural backgrounds gathered around the same table to enjoy traditional Indonesian iftar dishes. More than just a meal, the evening became a space for sharing stories, building connections, and strengthening bonds across nations.
“This is an extraordinary experience. We get to feel how Ramadan is celebrated in Indonesia, especially the strong sense of togetherness,” said one of the international students in attendance.
This event is part of UMI’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity and intercultural understanding among its student community. UMI buddies played a key role in accompanying international students, helping them feel welcomed and involved in local traditions.
Filled with warmth and joy, this iftar was not just about quenching hunger and thirst—it was about uniting hearts through the spirit of global brotherhood.
Happy Iftar
