International Office Shares Info on Study in Taiwan

KUI UMI – International Office of UMI holds an Info Session on Study and Scholarship in Taiwan Universities, Friday 17 February 2017. The info session is opened by the head of UMI International Office Ir Hj Setyawati Yani ST MT IPM PhD. The presenter Ir Andi Amri PhD is an Associate Professor of Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries of Hasanuddin University (Unhas).

Mr. Andi said that there are some reasons for learning Chinese in Taiwan, such as Taiwan is a perfect place to learn Chinese, a repository of Chinese culture, learn complete, traditional Chinese characters, available scholarships, an excellent environment for learning Chinese, a free and democratic society, easy to reach, a great place to travel, work while you study and so on.

“The future of Indonesia – Taiwan relation can be built in collaborative research and publication, seminar, workshop, and conference, promote scholar and student mobility, youth program and development, etc.,” he said.

This year, Mr. Andi is awarded a fellowship from Taiwan Fellowships and Scholarships (TAFS) and Australian Awards-Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships.

The event is intended by lecturer and students within Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) Makassar, assisted by the International Office’s secretary Ms. Salmia Syarifuddin.
